Hair Loss Dream at Parents’ House – Answered

Part of: Hair Falling off Dream Meaning

Question:

I had an unusual dream last night. I was visiting my parents for Christmas. Everybody was having a great time, except me. I was in my room and felt really sad. I don’t know why I was feeling so down, but I had no desire to enjoy the holiday with my family. Suddenly I saw the hairbrush I used to use when I was a little kid. I haven’t seen it for more than 20 years. I took it and started brushing my hair. My mom came into the room, sat next to me and started singing a lullaby while I was brushing. I smiled at her and felt how much I loved her. Then when I looked at that brush, almost all the hair I had was on it. I had only a strand left in front. Naturally, I started panicking. I ran away and went outside. It was freezing cold. Then I woke up and was super happy it was only a dream. Do you know what does it mean?

Answer:

There is various symbolism in your dream and I will cover them briefly. For more, I will need to know a lot more about you.

Brushing your hair symbolizes the time when you were a child. Your mother most likely used to do it for you and now you have a dream with her in it.

Your childhood home is deeply rooted in your subconscious mind. Visiting your parents in your dream is like traveling through the parts of your brain where the memories of your childhood live. You feel nostalgic and want to go back to simpler times.

It is also important to highlight the time of your visit. It was on Christmas day. Chrismas has a strong symbolism of family time and being close to your loved ones.

The dramatic imagery of hair loss in your dream clearly symbolizes the attachment to the past. As I mentioned above, you miss the times when you were younger and now want to experience it once more.

You started running away from the house because you could not accept getting older. Obviously, we can’t go back in time and reverse the process of aging, but it still feels bad to accept it. Your mind feels uncomfortable getting used to it. That’s why you dreamt of losing your hair in your parents’ house.
